Gift ideas for the person who already has everything

When the obvious presents are off the table, weirdness wins. A few categories worth searching in.

If you've ever stood in a store on December 23rd staring at a wall of identical bath sets, you know the feeling. The person you're shopping for has every reasonable thing already.

The trick is to abandon "useful." A useful gift to someone who has everything is, by definition, redundant. What they don't have is something a little strange.

Some categories that almost always land: - A small handmade object from someone they've never heard of - A book about a subject they don't know they're interested in - A subscription to something physical that arrives by mail (a magazine, a snack, a flower) - An experience that requires zero planning on their part - A weird little plant

The unifying theme is: the gift should be a tiny intrusion of someone else's taste into their life. That's something money can't easily buy, even when there's a lot of it.
